Live Out Loud… With Your Walls

‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello wonderful people! It’s so good to be back with you again. This weekend, I took some time to chill out with my hubby, binge watch some of my favorite shows under my new super soft throw, and cook up some absolute scrumptiousness in the kitchen. I did a little planning for work, too, but that’s not as fun to talk about now is it? Anyway, let’s get into today’s topic and one of the hottest trends for 2021: Bold Walls! Now, if you’re anything like me, this is giving you life BIG TIME! I love designs that provoke intense emotions. They could be the awe of beautiful intricacy or the gut punch of intense color and pattern. Either way, it’s a recipe for visual yumminess to me. I’m going to take you through some ways and inspiration on how you can take advantage of this boldness of wall flavor.

Paint A New Look: First things first. “Bold” is a subjective word, and one person’s bold could be another person’s regular. That being said, it’s up to you to decide how you want to “go bold” with your walls. If you’re someone who’s more accustomed to soft, light colors and neutrals, starting with your paint is all you need to do to achieve your look. Using a bold color like Urbane Bronze from Sherwin Williams or the color Epoch from Graham & Brown. Both will set off your walls to create a bigger personality in your space. Side note- dark colors in the bedroom are so bomb. We started in our bedroom, and ooooo weeeee. It’s a dream.

Stencils and Tape Patterns: Well I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there’s a growing group of people who want the patterned look on their walls without the fuss of wallpaper; or the price tag for that matter. Liven up your walls with a custom pattern. You can use a stencil like the Dalmatians Spot Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils or create your own unique pattern using painter’s tape. There are a ton of different designs you can choose from, but to help give you some inspiration, try the detailed look from the Rain on a Tin Roof Blog.

Wallpaper That Bad Boy: Here’s a chance to go even bigger. Yes, wallpaper has made a huge comeback, and it’s giving people huge ideas on how to give their walls a fresh, in-your-face look. Choose from small-scale prints to mural-sized applications to get the best look for you. And, if you’re not sure you’re fully invested in a wallpaper that’ll be up for the next 20 years, there are some bomb Peel & Stick options available from a slew of different retailers and designers. Consider something like the Art Deco Diamond Pattern from Walls Need Love or, better yet, the Desert Rose Mural from Mitchell Black.

Yes, yessssss. All these ideas get me excited, and I’m incorporating some of these in my own home. Shh! It’s a secret. I haven’t shared any details yet, but when it’s time, you’ll be the first to know. And with that, I’ll leave it here for today. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and comment to tell me how you feel about this latest trend. Until we meet again!
