Hello! It’s me (Gabby). I was wondering if after all this time you missed me. Lol. I hope you did because I love sharing this content with all of you. And for some reason I am oddly in a singing mood so there’s that. But let’s not waste any more time. Black History Month is in full swing, and I want to share with you my all-time favorite paint retailer to date: Clare.
If you have not been introduced to Clare then allow me to be your guide. Clare was started by Interior Designer and HGTV Star, Nicole Gibbons. She was looking for a way to make the paint shopping experience simple and convenient for clients. How? Well, her company has curated a select number of colors that you can choose from to help make your painting dreams come true. Options include wall paint and trim paint by the gallon, samples, and paint supplies and accessories. It’s a one-stop shop, all at your fingertips. So without further ado, let’s look at all the reasons why Clare has stolen the top spot in my paint catalog.

Black-owned: Listen, first things first, this a black-owned company. Lady Gibbons (yes, there’s still some Bridgerton in there; it’s gonna be a while) used all of her black girl magic, put in all that black woman work, and built a fabulous paint company that the press says is the Warby Parker of paint! Hello for showing up and showing off! The company has been moving since 2018, and uses people of color in her advertisement signaling the importance of diversity and inclusion. She is a champion who created a lane, and she is 100% succeeding.

Color: Ok, I know there are a lot of people out there that think neutral is king, but I absolutely, positively love color. Well, Clare takes color by storm. What they’ve done is select about 50+ colors that fit the needs of the average consumer. Let me tell you, from the whitest white to the blackest black, Lady Gibbons gave us all the right shades and everything in between. I mean, there’s the perfect energizing green along with a bold royal blue. And Clare just added new gold and pink colors to fill out the yellow and pink collections. Seriously, even the neutrals are standouts compared to the ones you find from other retailers. Just pure color magic.

Samples: Have you seen the new paint samples that are available from Benjamin Moore and Samplize? They give you a 12″x12″ sheet of the paint color that you can stick to the wall to give you a better idea of how the color will look. Well, that trend started with Clare. Oh yea; back in 2018 when the company first started. Plus, they make ordering samples super easy; you can get 5 samples for $10, sent directly to you. The swatches can be pulled off and repositioned multiple times to your walls. And oh! The color matches exactly! No lie. I’ve seen it for myself. Another straight win.
Coverage: OMG, this is probably the best part of the paint. Like the actual paint itself. You know if you go to the hardware store, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get the right paint for your walls, or the help you need to find your best color or application match. But Clare? The paint covers like a dream! The color goes on immediately, nice and vibrant, and it. is. so. Smooth! You don’t even need to pile a lot on because the paint just spreads so nicely. Me, my husband (and other people who’ve given reviews for that matter) just couldn’t believe how great the coverage was. Just an amazing product.

Smells: Ok, let me explain since this probably seems weird, lol. Every paint gives off some kind of fumes, emissions, and I have allergies. Normally, I would have to paint and then leave the room, opening up windows and all kinds of stuff, basically distancing myself for the whole day until the fumes dissipate. This Clare paint is true to its word. Low emissions means low emissions. Hubby and I painted a room at around 10 AM, and I was back in that room around 12 PM, no worries. I slept in the room that same night. That is HUGE for someone like me who is easily triggered by smells. This is an amazing product!
Seriously, I am in love. There are just so many great things about it that have proven to be true. And no VOCs in the product either. I mean, great color, great coverage, and a green-certified product?! The only reason for you to use any other kind of paint is if you just need a very specific color that doesn’t fall in the selections Clare has. Seriously. So now here’s what I want you to do: after you like and subscribe to my channel (don’t forget to comment on if you’ve used Clare before), head right over to the website. Check out the colors, order your samples, and get ready to change the way you experience paint. Until next time, y’all. Byee!
