Hello hunnay!!! Yes I am channeling the wonderful Mrs. Mai today and it’s because….drum roll….. the sensual, jungle, moody (a bunch of other adjectives that I’ve attributed with this space) is finally complete!! It’s been a whirlwind of fun, challenges and late evenings, and I’m glad you’re able to see it finally. I’ve been pulling things out of my bag of tricks I haven’t had to use for a good while. But rest assured, ya girl got it did. Lol.

Let me just say that doing this challenge was definitely a journey. While I typically work with clients as their designer, I very rarely do the work myself; especially not this much for one project. Getting into my DIY bag all the way through to the end definitely wore on my body and my time. Scheduling hours of work around my own and my clients work schedules was no easy feat either, but I’m glad I did it. This was a way to give a space that many leave last and some don’t consider decorating at all. I showed a way to approach it from what I would call a luxe, bohemian perspective, and I have some happy clients sitting back and cheerfully relaxing as we speak!

On top of everything else going on, I was in the same boat as everyone else in my industry: dealing with shipping delays and making last minute adjustments. Listen, it’s a jungle out there for real right now, and Monk would definitely be having a fit in his house right now knowing that his regular shipments were consistently being pushed back. However, we made out with some great vendors that came through in the end to help us finish this thing off right. Big shout out to Etsy, IKEA USA, RoomMates Decor, Target, Homesense and Walmart! That’s right. Even Walmart showed up in this room, and it still looks amazing.

Guys, this moment is honestly a little bitter sweet, but I can’t wait to sit back and get some much needed rest after the week I’ve had. It was such a pleasure taking part in this special event, and I’ll definitely consider doing it again. Until next time, you know what to do.
