Hey there, luv. Life is doing the most right now, and it can be difficult to keep moving forward. Taking time out for yourself is even more important during these times, so I want to offer your some tips to help. Whether you need to process your feelings or detach from it all, you can set up your space to do both. Your physical environment has a huge impact on your mental health, and I’ve been using this process for YEARS to help get my mind right. Now I’m sharing it with you.

Pick a seclusive space: Start off getting to a spot that you find comforting. My favorite spot is in my bedroom. Do your best to be alone in this space. It may not always be possible, but the important thing is that you give yourself room to focus on just you in the moment.

Clean and organize your spot: Nothing helps your mind reset like a clean and organized space. It doesn’t need to be spotless or rainbow-colored, but things should be put away with no standout messes lying around. For instance, I might take this time to organize my hair products and put my scarves back in their basket. It gives you the chance to let your mind breathe.

Set the scene: Grab anything that brings you comfort; pillows, a blanket, snacks. Play some music or throw on a comfort TV show or movie. You’ll probably catch me with the lights dim, curled up with my favorite pillow, a glass of wine, watching reruns of Psych. or Monk. or Leverage. You get the idea. Create your ideal set up and get to your reseting your mind.

I promise. This is a win-win strategy, and it works every time. A space where your mind can be free is so beneficial to your health. Check back in with me and let me know how this worked for you. I’ll talk with you soon!
