Life is really different this year. Last year, I had some really concrete plans about what I wanted to do in my career, and how I was going to achieve those things. I was fully prepared with a detailed plan, and I was ready to grow in business and in myself. Unfortunately, 2022 decided to hit a lot different.

Early this year, a family member passed away suddenly, and it shook our entire family to the core. It was so challenging to continue to move forward, and it created a moment where I, just like the rest of my family, had to reevaluate what I wanted for my future, and how I wanted to show up in the world for myself and for my loved ones. I decided to redefine how I approached business, and what I wanted to do to not only design well, but really connect with my audience, clients and communities.

So although I’m not where I was a year ago, I’m actually in a much better place because of the experience. I know what is important to me, and I’m not afraid to set my boundaries around those priorities. I have a different level of clarity around what I want for my future, and it’s really one of the greatest levels of clarity that I’ve ever had.
