How did you discover your love for what you do?
Oddly enough, it was in the early years of being in Baltimore. I was in the midst of taking my gen eds at community college. I was there as a business major because I thought I wanted to take something easy just so I could just graduate. Turns out, I hated my finance classes. Still don’t like finance, but I digress.
I was doing some soul searching about what I was going to do next, because I really didn’t know, and I kept being drawn to design. I’d be in the bookstore looking at design magazines, and checking out books on styles. And then I realized that I really wanted to be a designer. From that moment forward, I grasped my passion and never let go.
Since then, it’s been a gradual progression of pure fire for design. I entered a new program that helped me focus my design eye. I was able to learn what I liked in space. I even connected with more sectors of design, like Hospitality and Education. I’m really appreciative of that time because more than discovering my love for design, it showed that even in uncertainty, love and passion will find its way back to you exactly when you need it.
