Where do you find interior design inspiration?

Everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. Life inspires me in everything, and even the smallest, most insignificant things can turn into inspiration in design. It’s just what happens for me. That said, when I’m in a space where inspiration isn’t just floating down on me like a cherry blossom petal, I look for it in some familiar places.

First is in design books and magazines. Being able to sit and flip through beautiful spaces is a treasure. What makes design so attractive is that each element is interpreted in a different way based on the varied cultures and experiences of the designers. The images you find in publications do more than just show the design. They also share the story around it, which can be its own spark of inspiration, like how to create a standout white kitchen that doesn’t look like the average white kitchen.

I also get inspired through social media. Following designers, creatives, influencers, and positive thinkers, get to experience what people are drawn to and check out how they connect with their own interests. I mean, I’ve gotten design ideas from food bloggers and used a piece of fine china as the basis for a design concept. It’s all in the living.

Where have you gone to find inspiration?
