If you could meet someone you admire, who would it be?
This past weekend was a busy one. I wasn’t out all weekend, but I had a lot that ended up on my plate that I wasn’t necessarily expecting. That being said, I had an opportunity to meet someone I greatly admire yesterday, and it was a good vibe.
I had the pleasure of meeting Hilton Carter at the release party for his new book Living Wild. For those who don’t know, he’s a plant and interior stylist who’s been teaching people how to style and care for plants in their home. The party was hosted outside at Green Neighbor, his plant shop in Baltimore. (There’s a coffee shop connected to it called Good Neighbor, and it was so nice and chill in there. My kind of energy.) The water turned out to be beautiful, and I was really glad I made myself get up and out to hear him speak in person about his journey with plants.
One thing that really stood out for me was his passion and the desire for people to understand the positive emotional impact of plants in the home. He did a book signing after his talk, and I was able to chat it up a couple minutes while he signed my copy. That little convo helped me to see a deeper version of his passion, and as we connected as interior pros, I was so honored to meet someone who is just as open and real in person as he appears on social. It just strengthened me in my desire to see more people connected to their spaces.
Make sure you check out his work, and go grab some of his items coming soon to Target. 😊
