This is a little ode to my husband, because I’m getting ready to tear up his house again, and he’s just like, “do what you gotta do babe.” Y’all it’s Week 2 of the One Room Challenge, and the work has begun!
So last week, I showed you my true blue Before Pics, and there is a lot of work ahead for this room. Today I’m here to tell you… ::drumroll: …I ain’t finished cleaning out that room LOL. I realized that I have a LOT of random stuff that I don’t even need sitting up in there. Naturally, sorting out what’s getting gone and packing up what’s actually gonna stay is taking a little longer than I thought. And there’s hubby, just giving me the gon’ head look.
So that leads me to what I can show you, which is my working Concept. Now, what some of you don’t know is that the Concept portion of design isn’t about providing you with options for the finished look, but coming up with a main idea, or theme, that helps lead the design. I landed on Grand Rising as the theme mainly because there’s a need for calm, spiritual connection, and freedom of expression in that room. Plus there’s a level of pulsing energy that I get from that idea that helps describe what I want from the finished space.
There’s also the color palette, which also came together with my wonderful husband. I wanted full and bright all-in. He wanted deep and rich. So I figured out a way to do both, and got confirmation on the decision from the most unlikely place: the branding of my facial cleanser! Go figure. Check it out.

Before you go, check in and let me know what you think. There’s plenty more on the way, and I’m starting to get excited about what’s getting ready to drop. Check back next week for even more updates! Tootles.
