Can I talk about my favorite bookS? Cause there were a lot of ’em. 🙃
So when I was younger, my mom took me (and my sisters) to the library every summer, and I remember always being up for something fun. A little adventure and some wholesome lessons usually did the trick. I’m still grateful to my mom for that because I love books and good storytelling.
At one point I was ready to move up in reading age, but I hesitated because the older books seemed all serious and boring. So for awhile I was locked in to my favorite characters: The Berenstain Bears, Arthur, Max and Ruby. Eventually my mom noticed, and took me to a helpful librarian who introduced me to age appropriate books that were still fun and adventurous.
I started with The Berenstain Bears chapter books (it was a game changer to still have something familiar) and The Babysitters Club. I got into Beverly Cleary, too. Then I was all in for mystery and Nancy Drew came along. Looking back now, I was a fan of a good series, and even to this day, I rarely go for standalone novels.
Now I’m building a collection of some of my favorite series’ for all my babies. Mommy and auntie is going to have all the good stuff. Did you have any interest in these characters growing up? Share in the comments.
