Bridgerton: My High Society Obsession

My name is Lady Whistledown. LOL Obviously it’s not, but welcome, welcome, welcome to 2021 and my blog!! I’m so excited for all the things that are ahead for this year. It’s gonna be dope. How do I know? I spent the last few weeks of the year setting my goals for the new year, and putting all the things in place to give you guys even more great content. There’s so much on the way, I almost can’t wait to begin. But I definitely will, ’cause if you’ve been following my page for awhile, you know that I like to get to the point. Today is no different, and I want to start the year off talking about Netflix’s hit drama executive produced by Shondaland: Bridgerton!

Now, if I’m being honest, I had absolutely no intention of this series being the first blog post of the year, but baaaabyyyyyy. After I watched the series and fell completely in love with the story, the gorgeous fashion and the magnificent set, I just had to talk about it with you! And I know I’m using a lot of exclamations, but seriously it was just. That. GOOD!!!! If you haven’t watched it yet, then 1) you need to, like right now, and 2) I promise I won’t include any spoilers. What I will say is that it’s a series adapted from the story written by Julia Quinn, and the scenes are filled with beautiful colors and amazing architecture. That’s the part I want to share with you, by showing you some of my favorite space sets of the show.

The home that houses the old-money family, The Bridgerton’s. Nature steals the show for me in this shot. Accented by colors of white and lavender, the plant life on the exterior tells a story of tradition, wealth, overflowing love. And this is just the beginning.

The salon of the Bridgerton estate. “Take me there. I wanna go there.” Take me to the place of detailed plaster-work, elaborate wall and crown molding, and large, hanging chandeliers. Yes, I love.

I love lighting, especially paired with a decorative, event-level tree or shrubbery. The way the branches frame the scene under an evening sky ending in drips of light: What?!? And being accented by bouquets of flowers and candlelight? I wanna be here in this space, with my husband having an intense eye-dancing moment!

Serving as the Bridgerton’s sitting room, the white and blue colors really do all they can to set off this space. Turns out, blue was the jumping off point for the entire series palette. It creates a beautiful backdrop, showing its versatility in day and evening shots. And everything just looks so elegant and comfortable! I wanna try the settee myself.

Ok, I promised no spoilers, and I will keep to it, but goodness gracious, the first view of the Duke’s summer home gives me such grand chills. In its robust masculinity, the space also offers some softer notes with the gold and intricate plaster detailing.

The final favorite that I’ll share features another ballroom scene. Only this time, the nod back to the blue is grounded but yet even more greenery and hanging candelabra chandeliers, and accented by the guests in attendance. It all comes together to create one heck of a moment. Did I mention the chandeliers?????

For real, I’m ready for summertime garden parties and evening balls and galas, with corsets and fans, fancy dresses and bomb updos. What do you think? Is it worth hoping for this year? Well, only time will tell, and until then, there’s definitely more to come! I don’t want you to miss any of it, so go ahead and hit that like button, subscribe to the blog, and tell me which one of these you love the most. Until next time. Byyyeeeeee!!
