Hello there!! It’s Thursday, the week is almost over, and I am looking forward to continued warmer days in my future. Listen, I am a Spring baby, and I love me some warm weather. Right now we’ve been experiencing some sunny days and good vibes over here in the NorthEast. The reemergence of warmer days and daylight after 4:30pm makes me think a lot about the resurgence of a wonderful brand that we almost thought was lost forever. That would be Ebony magazine.
Now, I know that this is a bit different from my usual content, but I thought it an important moment to share anyway given the brand’s history and dynamic woman duo that has taken the helm. Ebony was the first lifestyle magazine illustrating the black experience. It came through loud and proud back in the 40s (::gasp::), and in the years that followed captured moments and periods in history that made people like me a priority. But at some point the light was lost, and with some… let’s say questionable choices by past leadership, it almost went away for good. Then Eden Bridgeman Sklenar came through with her family and bought out the magazine. Now, Ebony, with its new CEO Michele Ghee are looking to make the comeback that lets us hope for a better future for the publication. Check out my live review surrounding the discussion, and where Ebony is headed.
Thanks guys for checking in and hanging with me through my minor pivot. I’m wishing a continued wonderful Women’s Month to all the ladies out there. Make sure you are subscribed so you can see what else is on its way. Talk to you later!!
