What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Two days ago, I hit a new milestone: I reached 100 posts for my blog. I’m still happy about hitting it, and hope to reach many more milestones in the future. That day I shared the milestone on IG, and expressed how challenging it is for me to open up to the public because I’m a private person.

Showing up openly and authentically as myself has always been a challenge and fear of mine. In my world, in my bubble, I know how great I am. I tell myself so all the time, but there’s also another voice that questions how I would be received if I reveal that to others. Like many other people, that imposter syndrome shows up skrong (misspelling intended), and I have to fight to keep moving forward. That fight pulls on my energy a lot, too, so just standing up to fight is another challenge in and of itself.

That said, I’m pretty stubborn and strong-willed. If I really want to do something, then I’m going to do it. It just takes a conscious decision from me and persistence beyond reason. So what have I already started doing? Showing up as myself, little by little, every day: writing blog posts, creating content, building my business, even enjoying a good weekend brunch. Everyday, I take a baby step, and when I look back 3 months, 6 months, or even a year, I can see that those baby steps became significant milestones.

Whatever the fear is, don’t stop yourself from facing it. Take it on, one baby step at a time, and eventually you’ll see the top of the mountain. Toodles!

I’m a private person, too. I just don’t share my blog with people I know. It seems easier to share that way.

I get that! It’s like taking away the assumed judgment they might have. I encourage you to try, though, if you can and feel safe to do so. The response might surprise you. 😊

Showing your true self can be terrifying. Good on you for trying!
