If there was a biography about you, what would the title be?

Too Much, Too Little, and Enough: All at the Same Time. Honestly, I don’t think this is going to be a long preach today.

Throughout my life, I’ve been told one way or another that I was doing too much. Too loud, laughing too hard, too much attitude, too arrogant, too nosey, too thirsty, too bold, too emotional, too honest, too questioning, too rigid. Which in turn led me to underplay my hand for the sake of getting along with others. It changed my behavior but didn’t stop others from finding fault in me. So now I’m too shy, too quiet, too understanding, too open, too appeasing, too helpful, too kind, too introverted, too mild.

After awhile I realized that, instead of carrying the weight of other’s people’s opinion of who I needed to be, I was going to just be me, and that was enough. I’m still enough. Full stop. There goes the period. And anyone who has a problem with that can, respectfully, suck it, in Jesus’ name. I love you, but I don’t care. I’m gonna be me.

Thank you to the ones who’ve seen me for me and recognize that I’m enough.✌🏽

Couldn’t agree more – be who you are – your real self rather than trying to conform to others’ expectations
